Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy explains how Record Clearance Canada and Federal Pardons And Waiver Services (FPWS) handle personal information collected through this website, in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, email, phone number, province or state, and your answers to the eligibility check or contact form. Eligibility answers can include information about your criminal record, which we treat as sensitive.
- How you found us: the page you arrived on, the referring website, and campaign or partner codes in the link you followed.
- Consent records: the time, page and exact wording of any consent you give.
- Anonymous usage: counts of page views and button clicks. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
Why we collect it
To prepare your proposal, to contact you about your request, to provide the services you choose, and to understand which pages are useful. We only send marketing email if you separately opt in.
Who sees it
Your information goes to your FPWS advisor and, if you go ahead, to the FPWS staff who work on your file. It is stored with service providers that host this site and send its email (Cloudflare and our email provider), which may store data outside Canada. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and to meet legal and business record-keeping requirements, and then delete them.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by calling 1-800-543-2137 ext. 826 or writing to info@recordclearance.ca.
Proposal links
Your proposal page has a long random address so that only people with the link can open it. Search engines are told not to index it. Don’t share the link if you want it to stay private.
